October is Lupus Awareness Month
Current Mood: Sleepy
My middle sister is afflicted with Lupus, as is my Aunt. Lupus is an inherited auto immune disorder the causes the body to attack it's own tissue. Lupus causes the body to lose it's ability to distinguish between the body's own tissues and a foreign object. The cause is unknown and there is no cure. For more information regarding lupus and it's symptoms and characteristics, please click on lupus.org in the links section of this page.

Jen,
It is me again. You're kinda spooking me now. My #2 sister (under my blog links), Greta, has Lupus, she has been very ill, in and out of the hospital often this year. She also has sleep apnea, fibromyalgia, and homocystenemia (bloodclotting issues). She is my middle sister, I the youngest of us four girls.
Thanks for sharing that it is Lupus Awareness Month, my sister nor I knew that there was such a thing. She thought it was Lupus awareness week. Anyway, thanks for sharing.
Hi April! Nice to hear from you again! Wow! Maybe we ARE related....LOL Would not surprise me a bit. I also thought that it was Lupus Awareness Week, but according to their site - it is all month. My middle sister (I am the oldest of five - four of us are girls) was diagnosed about 5 years ago.
I am sorry to hear that your sister is so ill. I have a friend who suffers from fibromyalgia and it is a miserable affliction. My best to Greta and the rest of your family!
