Just Finished .........

I just finished reading Debbie Macomber's 'Glad Tidings'. This book is composed of two short stories: 'There's Just Something About Christmas' and 'Here Comes Trouble'. Both stories were sweet and romantic and I liked them both, but particularly enjoyed 'Here Comes Trouble'.

I am not usually a short story fan. My problem with short stories is my own. I like epic sagas with lots of detail and fully developed characters with soul. You just do not get that with short story. There is not time! I would have loved 'Here Comes Trouble' even more if it had been a full length novel and the characters had been more able to develope their relationship in more depth.

Having said all of that, if you are looking for something light and romantic to read in a couple of hours, check this out. It will both give your heart a tug romantically and spark a little Christmas spirit!

I just finished listening to Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol on audio cd. This version was read by Patrick Stewart and I absolutely loved it! Mr. Stewart was fabulous as the narrator of this story and I will likely listen to it again before December 25th! This is great for the kids as well - Owen listened intently to the entire thing. I highly recommend this, if you can find it!
