Super Yummy Appetizers
These are so easy and taste great! Thanks to Marja for the recipe!
You will need:
1 box of puff pastry dough
pesto - any flavor (I bought mine at Costso)
feta cheese - cut into cubes (I used basil and sun dried tomato flavored feta)
cherry tomatoes - sliced
black olives - sliced
egg wash
1. Thaw dough and cut into 2 x 2 inch squares
2. Place dough squares on silicone baking sheet
3. Place a dollop of pesto sauce, a slice of tomato, a slice of olive and a chunk of feta on each dough square
4. Brush all exposed dough with egg wash
5. Place into 350 degree oven until golden brown.
Unbelievably, that is all there is to these and they taste really great! Each box of pasty dough makes about a dozen of these yummy treats!

Jen,
These sound great. I hope I can get around to trying them.
These are great! You will love them!
Okay Jen,
I am planning to make these tonight for a Christmas Tea. I just had two questions:
Was your egg wash, egg and water or egg and milk?
Can you give me an approximate time they were in the oven?
I really hope you check your blog soon and stay close to the puter today as I might have other questions. I am hoping my Costco has the pastry dough.
Thanks a bunch!
Hey April!
The egg wash was egg and whole milk - but water would work as well.
These were in the oven about 10 minutes I think. I live at 5500 ft above sea level, so yours make bake faster. I put them in a 350 degree oven (mine is a gas oven, and it bakes hotter than an electric oven).
They are so good and you will love them!
Oh Jen!
I went to two grocery stores, one of them being Costco today and I didn't get the pastry dough...I assumed it was the filo dough used for Baklava. In the case that it wasn't, I just asked for boxed pastry dough and no one could tell me. Obviously Costco claimed to not have it either, I am so dissappointed and I didn't have time to go any place else, bake them and still make it to the tea. I will have to make them another time. Thanks for responding to my post.
Filo dough or puff pasty dough either one. Sorry it did not work out for you! Figures, huh? Please do try them some other time - you will enjoy them!
