I have declared myself a political atheist. I have no faith in either political party to be quite honest and am sick to the back teeth of this year's election.

I have been to the polls this morning and cast my ballot. I actually enjoy voting and watching the American political process in action. But....this year it has been overwhelming. Negativity, lies, fear mongering, destruction of good people's reputations.....it has all been too much for me. I don't want to be a negative person but it is rather hard to stay positive when everything you hear about both candidates and both parties is nothing but doom and gloom.

Honestly, neither candidate really was for me. I refuse to rant about why - it now officially doesn't matter anymore - but I do have a hard time believing that this is the very best America has to offer. Seriously - I have a hard time believing that the most powerful nation on Planet Earth has to be defined by the two men currently awaiting election results. Both men have their strong points but both have severe weaknesses in my mind.

So, we will see. One thing I do know for sure....no matter who is elected, that person has a monumental mess to try and fix. America has a lot of work to do and I am afraid that the man who gets the job as President of the United States has a BIG job ahead of them and that person is never going to be able to make everyone happy. The campaigning for election is like boot camp for the real deal and we will see if the man we choose is up for the job.

Also, I would like to ask for prayer for those of you who are of the praying persuasion for my good friend Dee and her family. There has been an illness and a death. I don't have permission to elaborate, but the Lord knows who I am talking about ;) Thank you all!

I feel the exact same way. I will have some serious concerns regardless of who wins (and it's looking very much like Obama at the moment). So I suppose I can say I'm good with whoever wins?? lol

Prayers for your friend's family.

Either way, in four years we'll be better off or not...at least we have the chance to see what he can and can't do....

Just pray!!

Hugs Ladies!

On Jan 20th, Mr. Obama will be my president and I hope he will be the greatest one we have ever seen. I love and believe in my country and want us - all of us - to be successful, safe and happy. If Mr. Obama can take us further down that road, then I will follow him gladly.

I really feel like the United States is the greatest country in the world and we proved that on November 4th. Yes, it was a nasty campaign season. American politics is dirty business. No matter who you voted for, we all need to get behind our new President. That is what real Americans do - we always do our best. Mr. Obama absolutely does have a monumentally difficult job ahead of him. He knows that and one huge thing he has in his favor is that the vast majority of the American people voted for him. He's been talking about it change for the better for almost two years now. With support from all Americans, which is all he's really asked for, we can make that happen - we can get this country back on track. It's going to take all of us but we can get our country back to where it ought to be, to where the people who lived and fought before us worked to get us. I have a lot of confidence, not just in our new President, but in the American people and I KNOW it can be done.
Yes we can!
