Mammograms!
Current Mood: chilled

Hey!! All of you ladies out there - this month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you are of the right age, PLEASE get yourself a mammogram! If you are not old enough to need such a procedure - please remind your older friends and neighbors to have a mammogram. Breast cancer is very treatable if you catch it early enough, so please - do the BSE and have a mammogram!

Please visit http://www.lifetimetv.com/ and sign the petition that bans the practice of "drive thru" mastectomies. This practice forces a woman to leave the hospital just hours after surgery. The Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act of 2005 would allow a woman and her doctor to decide whether she should recuperate for at least 48 hours in the hospital or whether she has enough support to get quality care at home following this emotionally and physically difficult surgery. It does not mandate a hospital stay. The bill is sponsored in the Senate by senators Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and in the House by representatives Kelly and DeLauro.
