It is incredibly smoky here on the mountain. In all seriousness, I have been ill since Friday. The smoke is thicker than I have ever seen save the night I left my house as flames crested the hills behind where we lived on August 17, 2000. Not the best day of my life as the Sherrif had to order me to go and I was really not happy about it. I actually went when it was all over, and apologized to the local Sherrif. He did not need my crap that night, that is for sure. We lost about 30 acres of our property, a shed full of mostly my things, a backhoe and our camp trailer along with various other outdoor equipment.
Anyway, these photos show the amount of smoke hanging in the air here. The small dot you see in the first photo is actually the Sun. Yes - the Sun. The second photo is from my side porch. That mountainside is less than a half mile from my house and it is barely visible from the house.
The Sun is just a small dot. This photo was taken at about 7PM and it should be sunny on that side of the house.

Oh Jen! That's so close!
I know what it's like to live with some smoke and ash (SoCal and all its wildfires even caused havoc at the beach), but nothing like what you're going through.
I pray the fires will be taken care of and you and your family and your beautiful home will be okay!
Jen
I am so sorry. I have prayed for you.
Jen and April: Thank you both! We are fine for now and are grateful for that! Blessings to you my friends ^-^ .
