This week's Friday Favorites category is candle scent.

I usually reserve the lighting of candles for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I always have candles on hand all year around, but rarely light them.

My favorite scents are pine, cinnamon and Yankee Candle's MacIntosh Apple. The MacIntosh apple also comes in a car air freshener, which I love to buy once in a while.

I love the scent of lavendar, but rarely light a lavendar candle. I have alway associated the lighting of candles with really special occasions - Christmas, birthdays, weddings, memorials......so, I am in the habit of reserving candles for special days.

So, what is your favorite candle scent?

My favorites are mulberry, peach, apple, and orange.

I can't do any of the others because I'm so sensitive to smells that they give me a headache.

A lot of people have that issue with candles Dev. How awful it must be to be so sensitive to such things! Those cinnamon pine cones they sell at Alberson's get me! Ugh!

I usually like to use those Glade Fresh Linen or maybe something with a floral scent or lavender.

However, if you like lighting candles for Christmas, I have something for you: Advent begins of December 2, we have an Advent wreath we set on the table that holds four candles-3 green, 1 red (for Christ's birth). Each week, you light one candle, and do some sort of devotional or prayer for the Christ child and the Family (the first you light only one of the green, and you do this candle every night at dinner and say a prayer-next week, that one plus another, and so on until Christmas). It is all about the Holy family, and it is something that Maya might like because she can relate to Christ as a baby or a child, because she and Owen are kids too...it's also a great way to start the COUNTDOWN to the BIG DAY. I will start adding stuff in on Advent about that time...when I find some web sites for it, I will send them your way and you can learn about it yourself.
Love and hugs

My favorite scent ever was Peppercorn, but it was made at a specialty shop and I haven't found the right scent yet.

I also like Fresh Linen and all the Christmasy scents, too.

Never have been a huge candle fan. Fire safety drummed in by my firefighter father, I suppose! Now I have a husband and son with asthma so smells do bother them. My daughter loves candles, though, especially around Christmas when we break out all the pine, cinnamon, cranberry, and so on flavored ones! Just have to make sure we blow them out well before my hubby gets home in the evening!! I am also a user of the Air Wick fresheners. Keep them in the stinky son's room and the computer room where the cat box is. With them it is lavendar and other floral scents.

Peppercorn. Never thought of that as a candle scent!

It was so awesome! Clean and spicy - not exactly what I imagined a peppercorn to smell like, though. lol

I went to New Orleans about a year and a half ago. I met a couple who invited me to walk around the city with them. During our stroll, they bought me two candles at a place called French Quarter Candles. The scents were Egyptian Fig and Bamboo. I love both of them and can't wait to get back so I can buy more!

I usually go for fruit or food scented candles.

Also meant to say, it's been a while since I visited (on holidays) and I like the new look. :-)
