What Religion is Your Bra?

A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's and shyly walked up to the woman behind the counter and said, 'I'd like to buy a bra for my wife.'

'What type of bra?' asked the clerk.

'Type?' inquires the man, 'There's more than one type?'

'Look around,' said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size, color and material imaginable.

'Actually, even with all of this variety, there are really only four types of bras to choose.'

Relieved, the man asked about the types.

The saleslady replied:
'There are the Catholic, the Salvation Army, the Presbyterian, and the Baptist types. Which one would you prefer?'

Now totally befuddled, the man asked about the differences between them.

The Saleslady responded, 'It is all really quite simple... '

The Catholic type supports the masses.
The Salvation Army type lifts the fallen,
The Presbyterian type keeps them staunch and upright, and
The Baptist makes mountains out of mole hills.

This week's Friday Favorites category is candle scent.

I usually reserve the lighting of candles for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I always have candles on hand all year around, but rarely light them.

My favorite scents are pine, cinnamon and Yankee Candle's MacIntosh Apple. The MacIntosh apple also comes in a car air freshener, which I love to buy once in a while.

I love the scent of lavendar, but rarely light a lavendar candle. I have alway associated the lighting of candles with really special occasions - Christmas, birthdays, weddings, memorials......so, I am in the habit of reserving candles for special days.

This week's Friday Favorite category is fruit.

My favorite fruit are apples. I love Pink Lady apples! They are the perfect combination of sweet and crunchy. A close second are Gala apples, which I buy often because they are usually cheaper and more readily available than the Pink Lady apples.

While we are on the subject of concerts, let's do this week's Friday Faves meme.

What was the best concert you have attended?

It is hard for me to choose. I suspect that James Taylor is going to capture the top spot tomorrow night. For now, the best, most fun concert I have attended was Bryan Adams. He is one of my absolute favorites and when my friend and I saw him a few years back, it was a like being in college again!

With the holidays fast approaching, this week's catagory is Favorite Holiday....

My favorite holiday is Christmas. It has all the things I like to do involved and is one of the two most important days of the year. Not only do we get to honor and celebrate the birth of our Savior, we get to do special things for our family and friends. Christmas involves all of my gifts - shopping, cooking, decorating, entertaining and surprising people. All of that in one! Yippee!! And, I also love to wrap gifts - which most people hate to do. Christmas is Heavenly - in every sense of the word!

My hubby is a big fan of Thanksgiving - both for the food and sentiments behind the holiday. We always try and make a big deal out of Turkey Day at our house.

Maya says that Halloween is her favorite holiday because you get to dress up and go out in public. Hmmm...... I am sure it will be her favorite - until November 1st rolls around and everyone starts talking about Christmas and making out their Christmas lists. The neighbor girls had Part One of her Christmas List done in August so the rest of us had better get cracking!

This week's Friday Fave is Television show.

I really enjoy Beauty and the Geek, Robin Hood and No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain.

Beauty and the Geek is funny - but with a message. People can date across those not so invisible social lines and find good friends or even a romance.

Robin Hood is a clean action adventure show that has an element of romance and is very family friendly. I could go on and on about why I like this show, but will not...today!

No Reservations is a travel and food show. Anthony Bourdain goes to a lot of exotic and less than exotic places to meet the locals and sample the food. And, he's funny!

My favorite book retailer is Amazon.com for online and Barnes and Noble for actual book shopping.

I mostly order things I want from Amazon though. I can order used books if I want to and I don't have to trek to the bookstore, get hit for all kinds of things by my children, only to come out disappointed because my local store did not have what I wanted.
