Everybody dings the garage door at some point in their driving career, right?

Well, today, I used up my 'garage door ding' .....

Photobucket

I am in big trouble when Mr. Jen gets home.  I already called the garage door company and they told me that only the bottom panel has to be replaced and that we could do it ourselves so that we don't have to pay for a service call all the way out here - which starts at $100 and goes up from there - plus the cost of the bottom panel for the garage door.

All in all, not such a good day, but it could have been much worse....I think!

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. All the kids had a great time and managed to bag HUGE amounts of candy - at least enough to last until Santa fills our Christmas stockings!

All of the kids had wonderful costumes. My second niece, Kait, was not all that thrilled with the costume that her mother had picked out for her (a really cute pilgrim costume.) I know her Mom thought that she would look cute in it, but Kait did not agree. Luckily, Auntie Jen had time to stop at Kmart where she found a lovely costume that suited Kait perfectly - and it was only $12.50! Double score for Auntie - LOL.

I hope you all had as much fun as we did!

PS - If anyone has any chocolate coins made by Sherwood - throw them out. They could have melanine in them. I have not had time to check that out online, but heard it on the radio on the way to trick or treat with my family. None of our kids got any chocolate coins at all so no one had to cry over thrown away candy.

Indian Princess Maya - wardrobe by Mom ;) I stayed up very late Thursday night to finish this dress - which was a big hit with Maya. She loved it!

So, I took Owen to the doctor - Urgent Care - and the doctor took some x-rays and really could not tell if Owen's foot is okay or not. Her feeling was that Owen has broken the first metatarsal bone in his foot and is sending us to see the orthopedic doctor tomorrow for a more expert opinion.

So, in the meantime, I am trying to keep Owen as happy and still as possible. It is really hard keep a four year old boy still! He has a temporary spilt/cast on his foot right now and so I have restorted to letting him crawl around on the floor and play with his trucks.

Here is our cute little foot all wrapped up. I feel REALLY guilty now for letting him play outside and run around the house while we were waiting to be able to go to the doctor. I honestly thought that if was that bad it would hurt and he wouldn't want to play. Boy was I wrong about that!!

So, this afternoon, we are going to watch The Great Pumpkin and make some popcorn.

Photobucket is being very naughty and will not load the nifty slideshow I made for all of you. So, here is a glimpse of ice fishing. This is as close to it as most of you would likely want to get - just trust me on that! LOL!!

Tomorrow is my Maya's 5th birthday. We have actually already had her birthday party on Sunday. Everyone hears about how fast kids grow up and how they are not babies for long. I never understood the absolute gravity of those statements until today. Maya was just a dream once. Then, 5 years ago tomorrow, she became an answered prayer. Praise the Father for her life and for giving me the opportunity to be her Mom. She is a joy and a blessing!

I have not been feeling very well at all. Since a post of how I have laid around watching TV for the past week would be monumentally boring, I thought I would post a few pictures of our horses.

We have four horses - my husband's beloved saddle horse Cowboy and three pack horses, Ranchero, Winterhawk and Trooper. I do not ride, but my husband rides all the time. I regret not riding when I was younger. It was not something I had the opportunity to learn to do when I was a kid. So, I hope my kids will learn to ride if they want to!

By the way, the two bays (brown horses) are Cowboy and Ranchero, Winterhawk is the white one and Trooper is the dark one. All are sweet and good natured and the kids love to go out to the corrals and pet them.

Thought I would share a few updated pictures of the kids! Maya and Owen are mine and the rest belong to my sister! Enjoy!!
